Read the following short review text and then answer the questions.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite 

Xiaomi has launched a mid-end smartphone. The smartphone is based on Android One and is named Mi A2 Lite. It is an excellent budget buy at under $140.

 

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite uses an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 5.84-inch. This smartphone has a notch on the screen and 3.5mm audio connector. Mi A2 Lite is powered by Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 Chipset. With RAM 3-4 GB, it can multitask very smoothly on various applications and games that are run. The photography sector is supported by two main cameras with a 12 MP and 5 MP. The operating system uses the Android 8.1 Oreo. Also it is equipped with a fairly large battery capacity of 4000 mAh.

 

Unfortunately, Xiaomi uses the Snapdragon 625 SoC which is more than 2 years old. This smartphone is not equipped with fast charging and an NFC feature. When it is compared to similar smartphones, namely Realme 2, the Mi A2 Lite is indeed inferior in specifications.

 

At least, although Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite has many shortcomings, it is still worth having.

LESSON

A. Definition

The text contains an objective evaluation or a rating of a work or an object such as, film, book, product, food, drink, tourism place, etc.). Jadi, teks ini berisi sebuah ulasan atau penilaian bersifat objektif terhadap sebuah karya atau benda seperti film, buku, produk, makanan, minuman, tempat wisata, dll).

 

B. Social function

Text is used to analyze and evaluate a work or an object, also to inform people

about its strengths and weaknesses. Jadi, teks ini digunakan untuk menganalisis dan mengevaluasi sebuah karya atau benda, juga untuk menginformasikan kepada orang tentang kelebihan dan kelemahannya.

 

C. Generic structure

There are four parts of review text, as follow:

1) Orientation

An overview of a work or an object to be reviewed, such as name, type, author, specifications, etc.

 

Bagian ini merupakan gambaran umum suatu karya atau benda yang akan diulas, seperti nama, jenis, pengarang, spesifikasi, dll.

2) Evaluation

Details of a work or an object being reviewed, for example, discussing specifications, uniqueness or quality.

 

Jadi evaluasi adalah detail suatu karya atau benda yang diulas, misalnya membahas spesifikasi, keunikan, atau kualitas.

3) Interpretative recount

Personal opinion of a work or an object being reviewed, for instance by comparing other similar work or object and adding the advantages and disadvantages.

 

Ini berisi pendapat pribadi terhadap suatu karya atau benda yang diulas, misalnya dengan membandingkan karya atau benda lain yang sejenis dan menambahkan kelebihan dan kekurangannya.

4) Evaluative summation

Conclusion of a work or an object being reviewed, containing an appraisal or punch line.

 

Berilah kesimpulan yang berisi kalimat rekomendasi apa suatu karya atau benda itu layak atau tidak dibeli, ditonton, atau dibaca.

 

D. Language Features

Review text has language features are:

1) Complex/compound sentences

2) Adjectives

3) Past tense

4) Present tense

5) Metaphor
